Countdown To The Brewery | Week 1

Wow what a momentous week it has been for the team at Curious Brewery!

Monday marked the arrival of our cleaning set and tanks, refrigeration plant, air compressors and Malt Silo’s.

Each Silo will hold 30 tonnes of Malted Kent Barley, capable of producing around 85,000 pints of our Curious Brew.

Over the next few weeks all these systems will be installed mechanically and electrically, before being cleaned (and re-cleaned) ready for commissioning.

On Tuesday we welcomed the delivery of our biggest uni-tanks to date….6 x 20,000L vessels. It’s in these vessels that around 11,000 pints of Curious Brew will ferment and mature over a period of 40 days. Undergoing a secondary fermentation with Champagne yeast and developing the characteristic Nelson Sauvin hop aroma.

Finally on Wednesday the first of our Brewhouse vessels arrived from China. Over the next 2 weeks they will be carefully assembled in front of our big Brewery windows, giving all of our visitors an insight into Curious Brewing.
