Matt’s Weekly Brew | 28 May 19

By The Curious Team, May, 28 2019

I hope everyone had a great bank holiday weekend; we certainly did down at the Brewery! I’d also like to say a huge thank you to all those who joined us at the Edinburgh Craft Beer Festival over the weekend, our next stop is Bristol Craft Beer Festival on June 7th & 8th- we hope to see some of you there!

Over the past week, we have welcomed two new additions to our Curious Brewing family, our Curious West Coast IPA and Curious Brut IPA!

Our premium west coast IPA delivers on hops and tropical fruits. The classic pine and woody aroma is complemented by light citrus fruits, including orange and grapefruit striking the perfect sweet/bitter balance.

At 5.6% abv, our brut is refreshingly dry and effervescent. It’s packed with grapefruit, elderflower & melon aroma, but with a low bitterness – this is as close to sparkling wine as a beer can be.

Out in the brewery hall, we are now only two weeks away from our first Curious Brew. Dry & wet testing will commence on the brewhouse this week, with the final touches being applied to Miss Adams (our brewhouse). Over the last few days, we have also received delivery of our last bits of brewing equipment. Our yeast propagators and pitching tanks are now in place, along with the centrifuge and carbonator. But more importantly, our hop gun has arrived! The Braukon hop gun will be vital to infusing all our fermenting beers with their characteristic hop aroma.

It’s now two weeks since we first opened our doors to the public in our restaurant and taproom. Thank you to all those visited and supported us over what has been an incredible opening period. Over 700 diners have experienced our unique twist on beer and food!

Look out for next weeks blog when we will be announcing yet another exciting new draught product @ Curious Brewing.

Have a great week all!
