Beer & Cider, Brewery, General, Our Team

Matt’s Weekly Brew | 29 April 19

By The Curious Team, April, 29 2019

We are officially counting down the clock now to the opening of our restaurant, tap room and brewery next week!

The last few days have seen a massive effort by all our contractors and Curious staff helping with the finishing touches as we prepare to hand over the building ready for soft furnishing install and onsite training.

Over the weekend we were able to get the Restaurant and Retail staff together for the first time. In addition to on-boarding, we also launched them on their journey to becoming beer connoisseurs, with some sensory training on our core range. It is also with great pleasure that I am able to introduce you to our senior restaurant team; Charlie, our new General Manager and Danielle and Jack, our team Supervisors.

Over in the Brewery hall, we are now approximately 3 weeks away from starting commissioning, with our first few brews following shortly behind. This week saw the arrival of one of the last bits of equipment….our Water treatment plant from Lubron. In addition to adjustments to make our local Water supply perfect for Brewing our beers the plant also contains a de-aeration set (or DAL plant). We are extremely fortunate as a DAL plant is rare for a Brewery of our size…..the columns strip the oxygen out of water helping to reduce beer oxidation, improving flavour and ensuring our beers taste great for the full duration of their shelf life.

Have a great week all!
